4/20-4/26 recap

I am officially one week out from my race which is on Saturday, the 2nd of May. So this time next week you can expect a race recap, which I have no idea what that will look like. My original goal was to just have fun and finish without feeling like I was going to die, but now I’m thinking I should actually give it a go to see how fast I can ride with no expectations. They are only timing 4 segments of the route, so there is still plenty of time to ride casually and cool down between segments. Of course they are timing all the climbs, but out of 78 miles only about 35 of them are timed.

Kyle was on a fishing trip this last week so I was solo. Lots of time was spent with friends, we sent off our good friend Kate who is leaving for 4 or 5 months to hike the PCT. I got 21,000 steps the day before she left because we spent about 4 hours on Wednesday night dancing at a Kitchen Dwellers show.

I met my goal of 3 yoga classes, lifted weights only once, and went on a few bike rides. I did some commuting on my bike and went on a chill 10 mile ride with friends. My bigger ride for the week was around 45 miles with 3,000 feet of gain. It was out in the Coeur d’Alene national forest, I brought my bear spray and even ended up hiking through snow at the top. I love riding by myself, I haven’t been using headphones lately so I’m really just out there vibing. I don’t really have much to say this week so I’m just going to share some pictures.
